The International Ski Federation (FIS) has announced that both the Alpine Continental and European Cups will be introducing new staff members next season.

Switzerland's Wim Rossel, who has been the St. Moritz Organising Committee chief of race, will become the FIS European Cup men's coordinator.

He replaces Slovenia's Peter Gerdol, who was announced as the successor to Norway's Atle Skaardal in the role of FIS Women's Alpine Ski World Cup race director last month.

On the women's side, Spain's Jordi Pujol has been named as the Alpine Continental and European Cup coordinator.

Pujol skied for his country at two Winter Olympic Games – Calgary 1988 and Albertville 1992 – and participated at two FIS Alpine World Ski World Championships – Vail 1989 and Saalbach 1991.

After retiring from the sport, he became director of business development at Grandvalira ENSISA ski resort in Andorra.

Pujol then used his experience as chief of race at this year's FIS Alpine World Cup Finals in Soldeu in Andorra.

The tiny European country staged the premier season-ending event for the first time in March.

Around 25,000 spectators watched nine events in total.

"The preparatory work done by the resort's staff and Pujol himself made the World Cup finals possible," the FIS said in a statement.
