Nineteen-year-old Li is the latest prospect to emerge from the sport's powerhouse China after topping the podium in the men's singles at Buenos Aires 2018 in October.

This was his first World Tour final and the unseeded player battled back from behind to earn a maiden senior crown, beating sixth seed Kashyap 20-22, 21-14, 21-17.

Kashyap won the Commonwealth Games title in Glasgow in 2014 but was second best in the final two games at Calgary's Markin-MacPhail Centre.

In the women's singles, another Youth Olympics star from China just missed out as tournament qualifier Wang Zhiyi was beaten by South Korea's fifth seed An Se-young, who herself is just 17.

Wang won silver at Buenos Aires 2018 but the 19-year-old was defeated 21-15, 22-20 as An added to her New Zealand Open triumph.

Three doubles finals were also held today at the Super 100 tournament on the World Tour.

Denmark's eighth seeds Mathias Boe and Mads Conrad-Petersen defeated Japan's unseeded duo Hiroki Okamura
and Masayuki Onodera to win the men's doubles, 21-12, 21-18.

In the women's doubles final, Australia's seventh seeds Setyana Mapasa and Gronya Somerville beat South Korea's fifth seeds Chang Ye-na and Kim Hye-rin 21-16, 21-14.

The mixed doubles crown went to South Korea's Ko Sung-hyun and Eom Hye-won who beat Chinese qualifiers Guo Xinwa and Zhang Shuxian 21-19, 21-19 in an all-unseeded final.
