Mauritian kiteboarder Jean Lauri Fenouillot de Falbaire claimed the men's individual foil racing and boardercross gold medals on day eight of the African Beach Games on the island of Sal in Cape Verde.

Fenouillot de Falbaire won all 12 foil racing contests across the three days of competition at Arena 4 in Santa Maria Beach Park.

Morocco's Hicham Tirya was runner-up, while home athlete Luis Duarte took the bronze medal.

In the final race of the boardercross event, Fenouillot de Falbaire came out on top ahead of compatriot Luis Drany Clair.

Algeria's Boudjatit Ahmed rounded off the podium.

Among the other events continuing today were those in beach soccer with Cape Verde claiming a 12-2 win over Algeria in the second leg of the women's final to qualify for the 2019 Association of National Olympic Committees World Beach Games in Qatar in October.

The second leg, which followed Cape Verde's 8-1 win in the first, had been scheduled to be played on Sunday (June 23) but was brought forward to today.

In the men's event, Morocco and Senegal both won deciders to secure top spot in Groups A and B, respectively.

Morocco beat Cape Verde 10-8, while Senegal defeated Nigeria 4-3.

The other match in Group A saw Algeria overcome Equatorial Guinea 14-4.

Djibouti finished bottom of Group B after losing 10-4 to previously-winless Kenya.

The semi-finals between Morocco and Nigeria and Senegal and Cape Verde are set for tomorrow.
