Norwegian top seeds Anders Mol and Christian Sørum lived up to their favourites tag as they won the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Beach Tour title in Ostrava.

With less than a month to go until the FIVB World Championships, the duo claimed a third victory in as many weeks at the Ostrava Open.

The top-ranked pair have enjoyed an impeccable week and breezed through their semi-final.

Russian pair Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Oleg Stoyanovskiy had no answer to Mol and Sørum, who recorded a 21-17, 21-15 victory.

They came up against Ondrej Perusic and David Schweiner in the final after the Czech pair edged a tight contest with Polish duo Michal Bryl and Grzegorz Fijalek 24-22, 21-17.

The Czech crowd gave the 16th-ranked Perusic and Schweiner all the encouragement they needed on home sand.

An upset looked on the cards as they stole the first set 21-17.

But the Norwegians came storming back to level the final at 17-21, 21-15 before holding their nerve to record a 15-10 triumph in the deciding set.

Bryl and Fijalek claimed bronze in the third-place playoff by defeating Krasilnikov and Stoyanovskiy 10-21, 21-19, 15-7.

Agatha Bednarczuk and Eduarda Santos Lisboa won an all-Brazilian final as they took the women's title against Ana Patricia Ramos and Rebecca Cavalcanti.

Ramos and Cavalcanti had been tipped for glory once Canadian top seeds Heather Bansley and Brandie Wilkerson had been knocked out but it was not to be for the world's number six pairing.

Fresh from a 21-16, 21-14 semi-final win against Americans Kerri Walsh Jennings and Brooke Sweat, Bednarczuk and Santos Lisboa were up for the battle.

Once they had a close first set wrapped up, they pressed on to win 21-19, 21-17 for their first tournament victory since the World Tour Finals in Hamburg, Germany, last year.

Dutch duo Sanne Keizer and Madelein Meppelink took bronze by defeating Jennings and Sweat 25-23, 21-17 in the third-place playoff.
