Olympic champions Brazil overcame world champions Poland in a titanic clash in the International Volleyball Federation Men's Nations League.

The Brazilians won the Pool Three contest at Spodek in Katowice in four sets to maintain their perfect opening to their Nations League campaign.

Brazil lost the first set but went on to seal a 22-25, 25-15, 25-21, 21-17 victory, ending Poland's unbeaten start to the competition.

In the other match in the pool, the United States claimed their first win of the tournament as they fought back from a set down to overcome Australia 19-25, 27-25, 25-16, 25-16.

Iran matched Brazil's feat thanks to a three-set victory over Germany in Pool One at Jiangmen Sports Hall in China.

The Iranian team earned a 30-28, 29-27 25-20 triumph to clinch their third consecutive win.

Italy finished the first phase with two victories after they beat China 25-21, 25-13, 26-24.

France are the other team with three wins out of three after they beat Japan 25-22, 25-27, 25-19, 25-15 in Pool Four at SPC Vojvodina in Novi Sad.

Argentina's unbeaten run was ended in Pool Three at Aconcagua Arena in Mendoza as the hosts lost 25-21, 29-27, 16-25, 26-24 to Canada.

Portugal picked up their first victory in the group with a 25-21, 19-25, 28-26, 25-23 triumph over Bulgaria.

The tournament resumes with the next round of matches starting from Friday (June 7).
