Two International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup warm-up matches which had been due to take place today were called off due to rain.

South Africa reached 55-0 against West Indies at Bristol County Ground before play was stopped.

The teams returned to the pitch twice, with South Africa managing to reach 95.

But persistent rain eventually caused the match to be abandoned.

Pakistan had been due to take on Bangladesh at Sophia Gardens Cricket Ground in Cardiff but were unable to even begin due to wet weather. 

The World Cup is set to start on May 30, with South Africa meeting hosts England in the opener at The Oval.

West Indies' first match will be against Pakistan at Trent Bridge on June 1.
