Namibia and Kenya occupy the top two places going into the final day of the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Twenty20 Africa Qualifier and Regional Finals in Uganda.

The two sides are in pole position to secure their place at the T20 World Cup Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates after rain washed out all but one match today.

Uganda's contest against Ghana was the only contest to survive the weather, the hosts claiming a seven-wicket victory at Kyambogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.

The Ugandan side cannot finish in the top two despite the win, ending their hopes of continuing their T20 World Cup campaign.

Ghana batted first and scored 113-6 from their 20 overs, setting Uganda a target of 114 for victory.

Riazat Ali Shah led the chase for the hosts, hitting an unbeaten 53 as Uganda knocked off the required runs with more than four overs to spare.

The only team that can catch Namibia and Kenya – first and second, respectively – are Nigeria, who trail both nations by two points.

Nigeria have a slim chance of snatching one of the two qualification spots up for grabs as Namibia and Kenya play each other on the last day of the tournament tomorrow.

A heavy defeat for either side could open the door for Nigeria, who play Uganda in their final match.
