Australia's Amanda Spratt won the second stage of the Emakumeen Euskal Bira and took the overall lead of the International Cycling Union Women's World Tour race in Spain’s Basque region.

Two-time Olympian Spratt was dominant in the 110.8 kilometre stage from Aduna to Amasa.

She finished in 2hrs 59mins 24secs, with Italy's Soraya Paladin and Spain's Margarita Victoria García Cañellas second and third, respectively.

The trio head the general classification.

Spratt has had a successful start to the year, triumphing in the Tour Down Under on home ground.

The race continues tomorrow with the penultimate stage.
