Will Anti has been appointed team coach and manager of USA Shooting's Paralympic programme.

The 22-year-old, a former member of the American junior national team, will start his role on June 1.

He will oversee the US Para shooting team at events including the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo and the Parapan American Games in Lima, where the sport will make its debut on the programme.

Anti will also coach the squad at this year's 2019 World Shooting Para Sport Championships in Sydney in October.

"I feel extremely blessed to have this opportunity to positively impact the Paralympic programme at USA Shooting,” said Anti, the son of four-time Olympian and 2004 Olympic silver medallist Mike.

“I have immense respect for these athletes and look forward to being a part of their journey toward the Paralympics and beyond.

"I am thankful to be a part of an organisation that is providing so many life-changing opportunities in a sport that I have loved for many years, a sport that has been so good to myself and my family."

USA Shooting chief executive Keith Enlow said Anti would be a good addition to the Paralympic programme at the national governing body.

"We believe strongly in our Paralympic programme and those athletes competing for USA Shooting," he said.

“The addition of Will Anti solidifies that opportunity we know exists for this programme and our athletes to continue to excel in raising the flag for Team USA.

"We have no doubt that Will’s knowledge, energy and passion will make our team better.”

The US have won six medals in shooting at the Paralympic Games, including one gold.
