Gongs will be on offer in four categories – best male, best female, best team and unsung hero – at the ceremony, due to be held during October’s INAS Global Games in Brisbane in Australia.

The best team prize has been added to the INAS Awards as the organisation now governs five team sports – basketball, cricket, football/futsal, handball and Para hockey.

The INAS is accepting nominations via an online form by April 30.

Performances and results must have been achieved in the period between January 1, 2017 and March 31 this year in order for athletes and teams to be eligible.

"These awards are a great way for our members to celebrate their best athletes and reward their outstanding commitment and achievements," said INAS President Marc Truffaut.

“While only in its third edition, the winners so far are widely recognised as people who have not only reached the top of many podiums, but have helped change the world by changing perceptions.

“The unsung hero award is also an opportunity for the membership and committees to put forward volunteers and coaches who have revolutionised the way they work and made a big impact on their organisation.

“Finally the Hall of Fame is a chance for athletes, administrators and leaders who have had a long-lasting impact to be immortalised in the history of INAS, an organisation with a 30-year pedigree of contributing to Paralympic and non-Paralympic sports

The INAS Awards and Hall of Fame are entering their third edition and have been held every two years since 2015.
