France were crowned winners of the inaugural FIFA eNations Cup after beating Argentina in the final in London.

The second day of the tournament began with the conclusion of the group stage, with the top two teams in the four pools advancing to the quarter-finals.

Hosts England saw their challenge ended by Argentina in the last eight, before the South Americans secured a semi-final victory over Denmark.

They faced France in the final, after the Europeans saw off Brazil and Portugal in their two knockout matches.

The second leg of the final was played on PlayStation with the opening match having ended 1-1.

France triumphed 2-1 on the Xbox console.

A prize pool of $100,000 (£75,000/€88,000) had been at stake for the 20 participating teams.

As one of the major events in the EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series, the FIFA eNations Cup is a new addition to this season’s professional eFootball calendar.

Players will have the chance to win up to 1,500 EA SPORTS FIFA 19 Global Series points, providing them with the chance to climb the FIFA 19 Global Series Rankings and take a significant step towards the FIFA eWorld Cup 2019.

The FIFA eWorld Cup features 32 players, who battle it out to become world champion.

The tournament is due to take place at the beginning of August.
