Hosts Poland dominated at the INAS Athletics Cross-Country World Championships ©INAS

Polish athletes won all the men's and women's individual events at last weekend's International Federation for Athletes with Intellectual Impairments (INAS) Athletics Cross-Country World Championships in Trzebnica. 

Barbara Bieganowska took the women's title in the short-distance race, winning in 7:03mins. 

Her compatriots Arleta Meloch and Anna Bodziony crossed the line in 7:31, with Meloch judged to have finished second and Bodziony third. 

The same trio finished on the podium in the long-distance race, with Bieganowska securing her second gold in 12:21. 

This time Bodziony received silver after clocking 12:54 and Meloch took bronze in 13:09.

Daniel Pek won gold for the hosts in the men's short distance after beating compatriot Sylwester Jaciuk by a second, crossing the line in 8:04.

Third was European champion Ndiaga Dieng of Italy in 8:06.

Jaciuk then took gold in the long distance after recording 17:19, with Spain's Lucas Manuel Gomez second in 17:23 and Pek third in 17:27. 

Pek, Jaciuk, Mateusz Klebanowski and Daniel Bosy rounded off a successful day for Poland by winning the men's short distance team event.

Spain prevented a clean sweep for the hosts when Gomez, Asier Aguirre Santos, Alejandro Montero Lopez, Jesus Fernandez Perez and Jose Martinez Morote triumphed in the men's long distance. 

The competition was the last cross-country event before the INAS Global Games in Brisbane from October 12 to 19.
