NOCK acting secretary general Francis Mutuku announced a team from NOCK and the Kenyan Government would visit the Japanese city in August to work out logistics, as reported by Daily Nation. 

Kurume is 882 kilometres by air and 1,101km by road from Tokyo.

A potential option could be Kurume Comprehensive Sports Centre, which opened in March 2018 and features a main arena, martial arts dojos and a training room.

The pre-Olympics camp will be athlete-driven and NOCK will consider factors such as adverse summer weather, culture and diet before deciding when and where to hold the camp.

"We have engaged our affiliates unlike the past where consultations were not made," said Mutuku.

"We want to bring that trust and we shall do what our affiliates will say."

The announcement was made at NOCK's unveiling of their Tokyo 2020 ticketing partners, Kingdom Sports Group.

The Australian company is endorsed by the International Olympic Committee and will assist Kenyans with the allocation of tickets and hotel accommodation during the Tokyo Games.

Tickets are due to go on sale in Kenya on June 14. 

Mutuku also confirmed the cost of Tokyo 2020 for NOCK would be known by the end of April, once all the federations have presented their budgets. 

NOCK is dealing with a corruption scandal, with the trial of six officials accused of corruption and mismanagement of their Rio 2016 team ongoing.
