Argentina were crowned winners of the Blind Football World Grand Prix in Tokyo after beating England in the final.

The South Americans had already defeated England in the group stage at Shinagawa-ku Tenno Park.

Argentina and England renewed their rivalry after both nations won their semi-finals by 2-0 margins against Spain and Japan, respectively.

That scoreline was repeated in the final as a goal in each half saw Argentina take the title.

There was disappointment for Japan after they suffered a narrow defeat in the third-place play-off.


Spain edged out the home side 1-0 in the 2020 Paralympic Games host city.

Turkey clinched fifth place after winning 3-2 against Thailand.

The seventh-place play-off was won by Colombia.

The South Americans beat Russia 3-1.
