Argentina won two golds and a bronze as action continued today at the South American Beach Games in Rosario.

The hosts claimed the top prizes in the men’s and women’s wakeboarding finals and also snatched bronze in the open water swimming mixed team relay.

At the wakeboarding in Puerto Roldán, Kai Ditsch claimed men’s gold with a score of 87.56, comfortably beating Colombia’s Rocha Jorge, who finished second with a score of 74.78.

Brazil’s Marcelo Marques Giardi completed the podium on 70.67.

Argentina’s second gold came through Maria Victoria De Armas, who won the women’s final by an even bigger margin of 30.33 points.

Brazil’s Osmak Mariana Nep Ribero finished second ahead of Chile’s Jacinta Bernales, who scored 33.22.

The only other medals won today came in open water swimming, where Venezuela won the mixed team relay in the Blue Stadium.

They finished the six kilometre course in 54min, 31sec, some six seconds ahead of Brazil’s team, while the hosts took bronze.

Elsewhere, at the Red Stadium, group action came to an end in both the men’s and women’s beach handball.

In the women’s event, the hosts beat Paraguay to advance to the semi-finals from Group B, where they will take on Venezuela.

Meanwhile, despite losing, Paraguay went through and will face Brazil in the other semi-final.

On the men’s side, Argentina are out after losing to Uruguay.

Venezuela, Brazil and Chile will join Uruguay in the last four.
