The European Championships will begin tomorrow ©European Shooting Confederation

Osijek is poised to host the European 10 metres Shooting Championship with athletes aiming to secure titles at the week-long event in the Croatian city.

Shooters have arrived in Osijek prior to the competition and have been able to conduct one day of training.

An Opening Ceremony is set to take place this evening prior to action officially beginning tomorrow at the Gradski VRT sports hall.

Three titles will be on offer on the opening day with the men’s and women’s junior air rifle finals taking place, along with the mixed team junior air pistol.

Junior events will continue to provide the focus of action for the next three days, while qualification in senior competitions will also take place.

A bumper day of elite finals is scheduled to held on Saturday (March 23).

The day will open with the men’s and women’s 10m air rifle finals, where Russia’s Vladimir Maslennikov and Denmark’s Stine Nielsen at the defending champions.

Maslennikov and Nielsen won their respective events last year at Győr in Hungary.

Turkey’s Yusuf Dikeç and France’s Celine Goberville won the air pistol competitions at the 2018 Championships.

The 2019 winners will be decided after the conclusion of the air rifle events.

Mixed team air rifle and air pistol competitions will bring the penultimate day of competition to a close.

Four further team events will take place on the final day.

The men’s team air rifle and air pistol events will be held, along with the women’s competitions in both disciplines.

A Closing Ceremony will be held to bring the Championships to a close.
