The United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee (NOC) have celebrated the second edition of the Emirati Child Day, the target of which is to boost the physical and psychological conditions of Emirati children. 

A total of 650 students participated in the Emirati Child Day, hosted by the UAE NOC and the Fujairah Government. 

The day aims to improve the physical, psychological and mental conditions of Emirati children, with the view that they are the future generation entrusted with the hopes and ambitions of the nation.

A number of sporting events took place at the Diyar International School in Fujairah.

"The participation in this kind of events reflects the NOC’s keenness to communicating with all spectrums of the community, especially as this day is designated for our boys and girls who are the source of joy and happiness in the life of all parents," Mohammed bin Darwish, executive director of the UAE NOC, said.

"As part of our commitment to actively engage in all community-based events that bring happiness to children and boost their self-confidence, we are celebrating the Emirati Child Day for the second time as the event is worthy of all sorts of material and moral support."

Emirati Child Day was launched by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Family Development Foundation and the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
