Argentina enjoyed a successful trip to New Zealand as their men's and women's teams beat the host nation in the latest round of the International Hockey Federation Pro League in Auckland.

Argentina's women moved to third in the table with a 3-0 win over New Zealand at the North Harbour Hockey Stadium.

The South American nation also emerged victorious in the men's contest as they earned a 2-1 victory despite fielding a relatively inexperienced team.

The defeat for New Zealand's men was their second in three days after they lost to Spain in a shoot-out on Friday (March 8).

Argentina were dealt a considerable blow before the men's match started as Matias Paredes was forced out through injury.

Head coach German Orozco also opted to hand debuts to five players but the decision was vindicated by an energetic display from the depleted Olympic champions.

Martin Ferreiro opened the scoring for the away team as he found the net from a narrow angle following a defensive mistake.

Maico Casella doubled Argentina's lead in the third quarter with a low penalty corner to all-but seal victory for the visitors.

Kane Russell converted a penalty corner of his own to half the deficit for New Zealand but Argentina held on for a win which sent them into fourth place in the men's Pro League.

Argentina's women made a strong start to their clash with the hosts as Agustina Albertarrio drilled home the opener in the first quarter before Micaela Retegui extended their advantage shortly after.

Rosario Luchetti's clever deflection in the third period put the result of the match beyond all doubt as Argentina comfortably saw out the remainder of the match to move into the top three.

The Pro League continues when Spain host Germany on Friday (March 15).
