A meeting has been held between the Ukrainian Taekwondo Federation and the country's Government to see what help they can provide in preparations for next year's Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Lesika Samandzhiya, President of the Federation, and Andrei Litvinenko, the national coach, held the talks with Ukraine's Minister of Youth and Sports Igor Zhdanov in Kyiv.

Samandzhiya and Litvinenko outlined plans so far and urged Zhdanov to help provide funding during the build-up to Tokyo 2020.

Taekwondo made its debut in the Olympics at Sydney 2000 but Ukraine is still waiting for its first medal.

Samandzhiya thanked the Minister for the support and understanding of the difficulties faced by the Federation.
