Italy's Riccardo De Tollis progressed from the men's junior wakeboard qualification event with the highest score at the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) World Cable Wakeboard and Wakeskate Championships in Buenos Aires. 

De Tollis achieved a score of 79.33 points to qualify for the semi-finals of the men's junior wakeboard competition, the highest qualifying score of the day at Pampa Cable Park.

He will join five other athletes in the final, with Israel's Ziv Zavaro qualifying with 55.67 points and Argentina's Kai Ditsch scoring 50.33.

Germany's Max Milde progressed with a score of 70.00, while Mexico's Miguel Menendez Vellanoweth scored 71.33 and Brazil's Pedro Caldas achieved 74.00 points.

In the women's junior competition, Italy's Claudia Pagnini and Israel's Hodaya Duek progressed from Group A with scores of 71.00 and 48.33 points respectively, while France's Salome Le Ly and Germany's Marie Grüneberg qualified with 68.33 and 60.00 points.

France's Maxime Giry topped qualification in the men's junior wakeskate competition, scoring 73.00 points.

Telma Cester of Spain led the women's qualification event with a score of 70.00.

The competition in Buenos Aires is due to continue tomorrow.
