Deusser, riding Tobago Z, triumphed in a thrilling jump-off with a time of 46.37sec.

Belgium’s Gregory Wathelet followed with Iron Man van de Padenborre in 47.72.

Spain's Eduardo Alvarez Aznar and horse Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Margot finished third in 49.16.

Six horse and rider combinations made it through to the jump-off in all with Deusser ensuring he finished top of the overall Western European League standings with his third victory of the campaign.

"I've never had a season like this to be honest - not only three wins but fourth in Leipzig and third in Amsterdam - it's just been amazing," he said.

Elsewhere, Ireland's Jordan Coyle tasted the biggest victory of his career at the North American League leg in Leon in Mexico.

In a two-rider jump-off, Coyle clocked in at 40.37 on board Eristov.

Home Mexican rider Salvador Onate had to make do with second in 41.96 on Big Red.

Federico Fernandez of Mexico, riding Davidoff, claimed third place with one fault in the first round.

"My horse is naturally very fast," Coyle said. 

"Going first, I wasn't sure what to do, as I'm new to Mexico [and this show circuit]. 

"I went as fast as I could go, and it worked."

One more North American league event will follow this season, in Ocala in Florida on March 10.
