The United States and Canada will play for the final spot at the 2019 Women's World Floorball Championships when they meet in a two-legged Americas qualification tie in Detroit this weekend.

Brownstown Sports Center will play host to both matches, with the first taking place tomorrow and the second on Saturday (February 9).

The winning country will complete the 16-team line-up for the World Championships, which are scheduled to take place in Swiss town Neuchâtel from December 7 to 15.

Switzerland have qualified as the host nation, while Australia, Japan, Thailand and Singapore are the four representatives of Asia.

Ten European nations have also secured their place at the event.

They are Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Slovakia and Sweden.

Sweden are the defending champions having beaten Finland in the 2017 final, securing a sixth consecutive title and eighth overall.

They won 2-1 on penalties following a 5-5 draw after overtime.
