Otar Gogava won the first gold for Georgia in the 57 kilograms freestyle category, defeating Uladzislau Andreyeu of Belarus at the Salle Serge Leyrit in the French city. 

Rajmund Farkas of Hungary took bronze in that event, beating Georgia's Lasha Lomtadze in the third-place bout. 

Georgia's next gold medal came from Beka Lomtadze, who beat America's Cory Clark in the 61kg final.

Andrei Bekreneu of Belarus triumphed against Arman Eloyan of France to claim the bronze medal.

Zurab Iakobishivli then won Georgia's third gold, securing a victory against George Koliev of Belarus in the 70kg final.

Brandon Sorensen of the United States won the bronze medal match, defeating Nicolae Cojocaru of Great Britain.

Davit Khutsishvili then got Georgia's fourth and final gold medal of the day, beating Omaraskhab Nazmudinov of Romania in the 79kg category.

The bronze medal went to Germany's Franco Buttner, who won against Krzysztof Sadowik of Poland.

It was also a successful day for the US, with American wrestlers winning two gold medals.

Thomas Gantt triumphed in the 74kg final, overcoming Romania's Maxim Vasilioglo, while Samuel Brooks defeated Georgia's Tarzan Maisurade in the 86kg final.

The competition is due to conclude tomorrow with the Greco-Roman wrestling event.
