Switzerland's Amelie Reymond consolidated her lead in the International Ski Federation (FIS) Telemark World Cup standings after winning the women's classic event in the French ski resort of Pralognan-la-Vanoise.

Reymond leads the overall standings after securing her second consecutive win in the classic event this season.

She recorded a time of 2min 42.46sec, beating compatriot Beatrice Zimmerman by 7.84 seconds.

In third place was Germany's Johanna Holzmann after she finished in 2:50.71.

Reymond, who has returned to competition following a short break last season, also has two second-place finishes in the sprint event to her name.

These results give her 360 points in total, ahead of yesterday's sprint winner, Britain's Jasmin Taylor, on 280 points. 

France's Argeline Tan Bouquet is currently in third with 250 points.

It was more success for the Swiss in the men's classic competition when Stefan Matter triumphed with a time of 2:32.54. 

Norway's Trym Nygaard Loeken was just 0.33 seconds behind Matter, with the top two on today's podium a reverse of first and second at the event in La Thuile last week. 

Switzerland's Bastien Dayer was third in 2:33.59.

Loeken's second place finish was enough to keep him at the top of the standings with 325 points and Matter in second on 270.

France's Philippe Lau is third with 242 points. 

The next FIS Telemark World Cup event is due take place in another French location, Pra Loup, on Tuesday and Wednesday (January 29 and 30).
