A delegation from Perak made a working visit to the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

Twenty-four people representing the Malaysian state made the trip to the capital in all.

They all came from the Perak State Sports Council with the delegation headed by Y.B Howard Lee Chuan How.

Dato Mohd Nazifuddin, the secretary general of the OCM, welcomed the group alongside the assistant secretary general Moira Tan Siew.

Lee said that the State Government in Perak saw sporting development as an "important element".

They are aiming to improve the performance of both athletes and coaches through education and training.

The OCM will now work with the Perak State Sports Council on developing sporting governing bodies in the region.

A guided tour of the OCM Sports Museum and Hall of Fame was made at the end of the working visit. 

Perak is the fourth largest of Malaysia's 13 states.

It lies to the north-west of the peninsula part of the Asian nation.
