Mahmoud Khosravi Wafa has been re-elected as the President of the National Paralympic Committee of Iran (NPC Iran) on a four-year term.

Wafa was re-elected at the organisation's General Assembly, which took place at Iran's National Olympic and Paralympic Academy.

NPC Iran state that Wafa received 46 votes out of 50 to extend his leadership of the organisation.

Ghafour Kargari was elected with 32 votes as the vice chairman, with Gholamreza Shabanibhar receiving 13 votes in second place.

Sima Limocchi became the female vice-chair of the organisation, having been unopposed for the position.

She was unopposed after Fariba Mohammadi, Fatemeh Rakhshani and Batul Musharraf Javadi withdrew from contention.

Shahram Monkersi was chosen as the treasurer of the organisation, with the sole candidate receiving 44 votes.

A total of 13 candidates vied for positions on the Executive Board, with Mohammad Reza Mazlomi, Seyed Ghasem Ghasemi, Hamid Ali Samimi, Ali Kassefia and Hadi Rezai approved.

A second ballot was held between Gholamreza Norouzi and Seyed Mohammad Poldadger to decide the final place.

Norouzi secured 25 votes to take the position, with Poldadger missing out with a total of 20.

The General Assembly was attended by Iran's Minister of Sports and Youth, Massoud Soltanifar,

Shahrokh Shahnazi, secretary general of the country’s National Olympic Committee, was also present.

The Assembly saw a report presented on the performance of NPC Iran.
