Teenage archery sensation Casey Kaulfold from the United States has advanced into the second round of the World Archery Indoor Series event in Strassen today as the top seeds in all four divisions made it through.

Kaulfold, who is just 14-years-old and set a cadet world record in qualifying yesterday, beat Great Britain’s Jennifer Collins 6-0 today at the Guillaume Tell Strassen Archery Club.

She is now scheduled to face Isabelle Vayssie from France in the next round, who beat her compatriot Lauranne Desvignes 6-4.

In the women’s compound division, the top seed Sarah Prieels from Great Britain advanced with a win over Ukraine’s Nadia Yaremenko.

That match finished 146-133.

In the men’s recurve action, the top seed and world number one Steve Wijler from The Netherlands saw off Dominic Goelz from Germany 6-2.

In the compound draw Braden Gellenthien from the US beat Spain’s Jesus Perez Gonzalez in a tight match 149-147.

They are now due to face Switzerland’s Florian Faber and Hungary’s Viktor Orosz respectively in round two.

Action in all four divisions is due conclude tomorrow with the gold medal matches.
