The Japanese Greco-Roman wrestler won in emphatic style with a 10-1 scoreline over Murad Mammadov of Azerbaijan at the Sala Polivalenta Bucharest Sports Hall.

Bronze was claimed by Kerem Kamel of Turkey and Mehdi Seifollah Mohsen Nejad of Iran.

Mohamed Ibrahim Elsayed of Egypt was an emphatic winner in the 67kg category, 8-0 over Azerbaijan’s Karim Jafarov.

It was Egypt’s first world gold since 2006.

Otto Losonczi of Hungary and Alen Mirzoian of Russia claimed bronze.

Cengiz Arslan of Turkey beat Georgia’s Ramaz Zoidze 2-1 in the 72kg final.

Bronze medals went to Kaharman Kissymetov of Kazakhstan and Tamas Levai of Hungary.

The 82kg category gold went to Georgia’s Gela Bolkvadze after he finished with a 3-3 scoreline against Romania’s Nicu Ojog.

Bronze medals were claimed by Mikita Klimovich of Belarus and Mahdi Ebrahimi of Iran.

97kg Aleksandr Golovin of Russia took the 97kg gold with a 5-2 scoreline against Hungary’s Zsolt Toeroek.

The bronze medals went to Iran’s Ali Heidari and Giorgi Melia of Georgia.

Meanwhile the first batch of women’s freestyle semi-finals took shape, with China and Japan providing four wrestlers each in the line-up.

Japan’s defending champion Miho Igarashi was due to take on two-time age-group World bronze medalist Stefania Priceputu of Romania in the 50kg class.

Miho seeks her fifth World title as she is also a two-time Junior World champion and a 2014 Cadet World champion.

The other semi-final at 50 kg featured 2011 Cadet World champion and two-time World silver medalist Nadezhda Sokolova of Russia and Mongolia’s Namuuntsetseg Tsogt Ochir.

At 55 kg, Saki Igarashi of Japan was due to take on 2016 Junior World bronze medallist and 2014 Cadet World bronze winner Elena Heike Brugger of Germany.

Saki was this year’s 2018 Junior World champion and claimed Cadet World silver in 2015.

On the other side of the bracket, China’s Junling Ouyang faced Marina Sedneva of Kazakhstan a two-time Junior World medal winner.

World champions Ningning Rong of China and Yuzuru Kumano of Japan were on opposite sides of the 59 kg bracket.

Youth Olympic Games champion and 2017 Junior World bronze medalist Grace Bullen of Norway earned a place in the 59kg final with a victory over Japan’s reigning champion Kumano.

Rong, who won the 2018 Senior World title at 57 kg two weeks ago, faced two-time Cadet World champion and two-time Junior World medallst Olena Kremzer of Ukraine.

The last weight that featured wrestlers from both China and Japan was at 68 kg.

Miwa Morikawa, the 2018 Junior World bronze medallist, faced Mongolia’s  Khishigmaa Munkhbat, while Chuyin Tang of China met Yudari Sanchez Rodriguez of Cuba, the 2017 under-23 World silver medallist.

At 76 kg, Paliha Paliha of China faced 2015 Junior World bronze winner Gulmaral Yerkebayeva of Kazakhstan.

On the other side, 2017 under-23 World finalist Gracelynn Doogan of Canada lost 5-2 to Aysegul Ozbege of Turkey.
