China's Du Yu and He Weidong took gold and silver in the men's trap competition as Kazakhstan's juniors did the same at the Asian Shotgun Championships in Kuwait.

After having to compete in a shoot-off to qualify for the final, Du shone to win by three shots over compatriot He.

With 42 points, Du took the gold medal with He's tally of 39 points enough for silver.

Bronze went to Victor Khassyanov of Kazakhstan as he scored 31.

In the junior event, Kazakhstan showed future promise as Ruslan Berdov and Shyngys Yegemkul took gold and silver.

Berdov beat his team-mate by just one point, with a total of 37 hits in the final after also qualifying in first place.

The bronze medal was awarded to Li Cheng of China as he scored 27.

The competition concludes tomorrow with the final trap events.

The mixed team trap finals will begin at 1pm local time with both a senior and junior competition before the Championships close.
