Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympic silver medallist Chris Vos got his new winter season off to a golden start as he won his second event on the final day of the Dubai 2018 World Para Snowboard World Cup.

The Dutch snowboarder's performance in the men's banked slalom SB-LL1, at what was the first winter sport event to be held in Dubai, was matched by Australian Ben Tudhope, who also picked up a second win at the indoor Ski Dubai venue in the men's SB-LL2.

Vos won in 34.58sec from Austria's Reinhold Schett, who clocked 37.41, and Croatia's Bruno Bosnjak who was timed at 37.72.

"It was really good to be here, to be racing again," said Vos, whose right leg was paralysed during a domestic construction accident when he was five.

"I was a bit nervous during the first race, but the course was so good and I had a lot of fun.

"And it's great to start the season with a good result and riding well."

His strong performance saw The Netherlands finish top of the table with eight medals, in front of Australia, who earned six, and China, who had five.

"Now, it's time to move forward and think about the next competitions," he added.

"Last season my rivals were faster than me, but maybe this year I'll get a little bit closer.

"Let's see what happens."

Tudhope left Dubai not only with two golds in the SB-LL2 but also the fastest time on the indoor course - 31.75.

Alex Massie of Canada took silver in 32.08, with bronze going to Zach Miller of the United States in 32.17.

"It was awesome," said Tudhope.

"I got my first World Cup gold ever on the first day and today another gold, even with the fall on the second run.

"I wanted to get a time below 31 seconds, so I pushed myself to see how far I could go.

"I am a little bit sore now, but it's a great result for me.

"I can't ask for anything else.

"It's a great preparation and big motivation for the season."

In the women's banked slalom SB-LL2, Anna Garttener made it a double celebration for The Netherlands as she also took gold on the second day of the World Cup in 40.00.

Her colleagues filled the podium as Renske van Beek clocked 40.79 and Lisa Bunschoten 46.55.

China's Qiaorong Pang won the women's banked slalom SB-UL in 38.07 over fellow countrywoman Lu Jiangli, who clocked 38.82.

In the men's banked slalom SB-UL, Austrian Patrick Mayrhofer claimed first place in 33.37.

Silver went to Australia's Simon Patmore, who clocked 33.51, and bronze to his Australian team-mate Sean Pollard, who clocked 34.16.

The Dubai World Cup featured 35 athletes from 12 countries.

The next competition will be in Landgraaf, The Netherlands, from November 14 to 15.
