The United States won gold in the only medal event of the day today at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Championship of the Americas in Guadalajara in Mexico.
The country, which picked up three golds, a silver and three bronze medals yesterday, claimed a further prize today when Ashley Carroll and Grayson Davey won the trap mixed team event at the Club Cinegetico Jalisciense.
In the final of what is a new Olympic event, each athlete switches with their team-mate after five shots over 50 targets.
The eventual winners set a new US record on their way to victory with 46 hits, including a perfect score over the final 20 targets.
Afterwards Davey admitted he was feeling "cocky".
Davey added: "Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t.
"Today it just happened to be one of those times it worked."
Second place went to the Mexican pair of Ramirez Caballero and Orozco Diaz, who hit 42 targets.
The bronze medal went to Guatemala’s pair of Ruano Oliva and Brol Cardenas, who hit 33.
Tomorrow is due to feature action in the women’s 25 metre sport pistol event.
