Defending champion Mohamed Elshorbagy of Egypt won his first game of the Professional Squash Association (PSA) Qatar Classic in Doha, against Tsz Fung Yip of Hong Kong.

Elshorbagy, who received a bye into the second round, beat Tsz 11-3, 11-9, 6-11, 11-9 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.

The Egyptian world number one and reigning world champion will now play Adrian Waller of England who beat Omar Mosaad of Egypt 11-0, 11-2, 11-5 in 22 minutes. 

Diego Elias of Peru defeated Raphael Kandra of Germany 10-12, 11-4, 11-3, 11-5 to set up a tie with Egyptian Mazen Hesham who beat England's Daryl Selby 3-11, 11-9, 11-2, 11-3.

The third round three fixture will see Paul Coll of New Zealand take on Borja Golan of Spain.

Coll triumphed over Cesar Salazar of Mexico 13-15, 11-7, 11-6, 11-4 while Golan beat Scotland's Greg Lobban 13-11, 11-8, 12-10.

Tom Richards of England was victorious over Ryan Cuskelly of Australia, 5-11, 11-7, 11-5, 11-7 to meet Simon Rosner of Germany who beat England's George Parker  

Tomorrow's action at the PSA World Tour competition will the remainder of the second round matches played, including world number two Ali Farag of Egypt playing compatriot Mohamed Abouelghar.
