Georgia beat the United Kingdom 21-14, 21-12 at the Quaycentre to win gold.

They had won against Estonia 21-11 21-15 in the semi-finals to reach the final and the UK overcame Poland 21-14, 21-15.

In the bronze medal match, Estonia beat Poland 21-16, 21-13 to complete the podium. 

Gold medals were also awarded in powerlifting at the Genea Netball Centre.  

Sebastiana Lopez of the US won the gold medal in the women's midweight IP2 with a score of 82.00 points, with Nicki Bradley of Australia finishing second with 70.00 and compatriot Alexia Vlahos in third with 68.00 points.

Ukraine's Oleksandr Havrylenko was victorious in the men's midweight IP5, scoring 177.00 points, while Australia's Tyronne Gawthorne came second with 171.000 and Britain's Jonathan Mitchell was in third with 162.00.

Action in the wheelchair tennis reached its culmination at the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre, though no medals were awarded as it is not a formal medal sport at the Invictus Games. 

In Pool A, Vanessa Bawden-Pere and Jules Bramley of New Zealand lost to Jelle van der Steen and Ronald van Dort of The Netherlands 6-2, 6-1, while in Pool B America's Chance Field and Brian Anthony Williams defeated Australia's Trudi Lines and Stewart Sherman 6-3, 6-3.

In the semi-finals of the event, van der Steen and van Dort beat Field and Williams 7-6, 6-2 and Edwin Vermetten and Paul Guest of Unconquered, a team made up of athletes from the UK and The Netherlands, won their semi-final by default after Sam Gould and Jamie Tanner of Australia withdrew. 

An unofficial final was held with Van der Steen and Van Dort victorious, beating Vermetten and Guest over three sets 6-2, 3-6, 10-3.

Field and Williams won the third place match 6-1, 6-2 over Gould and Tanner. 

The swimming heats at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre also got underway. 

Notable results included Taryn Barbara of Australia winning the heat of the women's ISD 50 metres freestyle in 31.75sec, and and the ISD 100m freestyle in 1min 12.07sec. 

Marco Armando Iannuzzi of Italy won the heats of the men's ISB 50m freestyle and men's ISB 100m freestyle in 36.83 and 1:23.16 respectively. 

Australia's Tom Foster was a three time winner in the heats, winning the men's ISD 50m freestyle with a time of 24.74, the men's ISD 50m backstroke in 29.71 and the men's ISD 100m freestyle in 55.33.

Tomorrow's action is due to see more medals in the powerlifting, the first medals awarded in swimming and the start of wheelchair rugby.
