The qualification rounds for the cadet, junior and senior categories at the United World Wrestling (UWW) Beach Wrestling World Championships took place today in Muğla, Turkey.

In the men's senior 70kg event, defending champion Semen Radulov of Ukraine won his first and second round ties to set up a match against Vegard Stroem of Norway tomorrow.

Jakob Makarashvili of Georgia is through to the semi-finals of the men's senior 80kg category after winning three matches today.

He will come up against compatriot Jumber Kvelashvili in the next round, with Vasyl Mykhailov of Ukraine and Efe Sami Unal of Turkey making up the semi-final.

In the men's senior 90+kg category, home favourites Baki Sahin and Irfan Mete made the semifinal. 

Sahin will face Niazi Impis of Greece, while Mete will come up against Rares Daniel Chintoan of Romania who was undefeated in all of his first three matches. 

Kamila Barbosa Vito Da Silva of Brazil progressed to a semi-final against Sevil Alioglu in the senior women's 50kg event. 

Romanian wrestlers Maria Alexandra Cioclea and Stefania Claudia Priceputu will meet in the other semi-final in that category. 

In the women's 60kg, defending champion Francesca Indelicato of Italy has progressed.

There will be an all Norwegian semi-final in the women's 70kg event, with Charlotte Skauen and Cesilie Hoeivik Magnussen taking on each other.
