Top seeds Suppanyu Avihingsanon and Rasmus Gemke will meet in the men’s singles final at the Badminton World Federation Spain Masters in Barcelona.

Thailand’s Avihingsanon eased into the final in impressive fashion as the top seeded player claimed a straight sets win at the Pavelló de la Vall d'Hebron.

He emerged as a 21-11, 21-15 winner against Japan’s Yu Igarashi.

Avihingsanon will face the challenge of Denmark’s Gemke in the final, as he also triumphed in straight games.

The tournament second seed edged England’s Toby Penty 21-19, 21-17 in his semi-final match.

Denmark were also assured of a women’s finalist, with Mia Blichfeldt and Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt going head-to-head.

A tightly fought contest ultimately saw Blichfeldt emerge as the winner of the Danish duel, as she clinched a 21-18, 19-21, 22-20 success.

Her reward is a meeting with Japan’s Minatsu Mitani, as she claimed a 21-15, 21-16 win over Scotland’s Kirsty Gilmour.

The gold medal matches will take place at the Super 300 event tomorrow.
