Hosts Kazakhstan will meet Russia in the final of the men's tournament at the World University Futsal Championships after both teams came through their semi-final matches in Almaty today.

Kazakhstan came back from a goal down to beat Portugal 3-2 at the Almaty Arena.

Their victory set up a final clash with Russia, who edged Ukraine 4-2 in today's other semi-final.

Portugal and Ukraine will contest the bronze medal match, before the winners of the tournament are crowned.

Russia will have the chance to seal the double as their women also progressed to the final.

The Russian side beat Portugal on penalties after the match had ended 1-1 following regulation time.

Their opponents in the final will be Ukraine, who also needed penalties to get past France.

Ukraine's encounter with France also finished 1-1 at the end of normal time.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude on Sunday (August 26).
