His win here came during an afternoon session in Hall D of the Jakarta International Expo, which saw five golds shared between three countries, Chinese Taipei, China and South Korea.

On the busiest day for gymnastics yet at Jakarta Palembang 2018, finals took place in the men's floor, men's pommel horse, men's rings, women's vault and women's uneven bars.

The men's floor was the first final to take place and it was won by South Korea's Hansol Kim, with a score of 14.675.

His victory gave South Korea their third gold medal in the floor exercise at the Asian Games, and their first since 2010.

Only China have more golds in that event, with nine triumphs.

Second in the floor went to Chinese Taipei's Chia-Hung Tang, who scored 14.425, with the bronze going to Chaopan Lin who managed 14.225.

South Korea then also picked up the second gold of the gymnastics session, as they won the women's vault through Seojeong Yeo.

She scored 14.387, which won her the gold by exactly 0.100 points in front of Uzbekistan's Oksana Chusovitina, who picked up her eighth medal in the Asian Games, becoming only the second woman to do so in gymnastics.

North Korea picked up their first medal of the session by winning the bronze through Rye Yong Pyon.

Chinese Taipei then became the next nation to win a gymnastics gold today, when Chih topped the men's pommel horse to claim a historic victory.

Prior to his win, Chinese Taipei had never won a gold in artistic gymnastics at the Asian Games.

Behind Lee, China picked up both the silver and the bronze, through Jingyuan Zou and Wei Sun.

It was the seventh time in the Asian Games that two Chinese gymnasts have both won a medal in the men's pommel horse.

The same happened in the women's uneven bars, though that time it was gold and silver that China won.

Tingting Liu finished first, gaining her second gold of the Games with a score of 14.600 after also winning in the women's team event.

China won silver as well through Huan Luo, meaning they have now finished both first and second in the uneven bars for the third time in a row.

North Korea then won their second medal and second bronze of the night thanks to Jang Mi Jon.

The evening session finished with China gaining their second gold of the night.

Shudi Deng scored 14.750 in the men's rings to take gold as Japan gained their first medal of the night, with silver through Shogo Nonomura.

China have now won the men's rings for the past five Asian Games in succession and 11 times in all.

In taking bronze, meanwhile, Chinese Taipei's Chihyu Chen became only the second gymnast from the country to win multiple Asian Games medals.

Five more gold medals will be won in gymnastics tomorrow, in events including the men's vault, women's balance beam and men's horizontal bar.
