Austria’s Gregor Mühlberger claimed victory on the sixth stage of the BinckBank Tour in The Netherlands today.

An thrilling conclusion to the 182 kilometre stage from Riemst to Sittard-Geleen saw numerous attacks take place.

A seven man leading group escaped the peloton in the latter stages, before Belgium’s Tim Wellens launched an attack.

He was joined by the Czech Republic’s Zdenek Stybar, the Netherlands’ Dylan van Baarle and Mühlberger.

Heading into the final kilometre of the stage, Mühlberger attacked from the breakaway and ultimately moved clear to the finish.

The Bora-Hansgrohe rider claimed victory in a time of 4hr 5min 10sec, with Wellens following across the line at three seconds down.

Stybar and van Baarle crossed the line with Wellens, while the chasing peloton ended nearly 10 seconds back.

Slovenia’s Matej Mohoric strengthened his grip on the race with one stage left, with the Bahrain-Merida rider now 30 seconds clear of his nearest challenger Michael Matthews of Australia.

The International Cycling Union (UCI) WorldTour race will conclude with a 215km stage from Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure to Geraardsbergen tomorrow.

London 2012 Olympic gold medallist Marianne Vos continued her hot streak by winning the second stage of the Ladies Tour of Norway in another sprint finish.

The Dutch rider won the opening stage of the race yesterday, following a win at the Vårgårda road race last week.

A third straight success came in an uphill sprint at the end of a 127.6 kilometres stage from Fredrikstad to Sarpsborg.

She finished in a winning time of 3:11.15, with Sweden’s Emilia Fahlin ending as the runner-up on the same time as the victor.

Vos leads the overall race from Fahlin, who now lies 18 seconds behind on the overall standings due to the Dutch rider’s time bonuses.

The UCI Women’s WorldTour event concludes tomorrow with a 154km stage from Svinesund to Halden.

The one day Cyclassics Hamburg is due to take place tomorrow in another UCI WorldTour race.
