The League of Youth Voluntary Service (LYVS) has been named as a partner of the 2019 European Games in Minsk.

According to the Belarusian Telegraph Agency, one of the areas of work will be the attraction of foreign volunteers to the second edition of the quadrennial event.

LYVS, a non-Governmental, non-profit organisation based in Belarus' capital, will also provide informational support to the Minsk 2019 directorate in the popularisation of sports included on the programme.

Additionally, its staff will also participate in the training of volunteers.

LYVS is a member of the national council of non-Governmental youth organisations and associated member of the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations.

Its central objective is to assist young people in the implementation of their ideas on the basis of voluntary service.

The second edition of the European Games is due to run between June 21 and 30 next year.

In total, 4,082 athletes from all 50 European National Olympic Committees will compete in Minsk in 15 sports: 3x3 basketball, archery, athletics, badminton, beach soccer, beach volleyball, boxing, canoe sprint, cycling, judo, karate, sambo, shooting, table tennis and wrestling.
