The series leader qualified in second place yesterday as the third stop of the Festival of Extreme Sports (FISE) World Series began.

She would, however, top the standings during today’s final in the Canadian city.

Roberts triumphed on a score of 89.20 points to boost the 16-year-old’s lead in the overall World Cup.

Her nearest rival remains Germany’s Lara Lessmann, with the top qualifier forced to settle for second place today.

Lessmann ended with a score of 86.40 points.

The podium was completed by Britain's Charlotte Worthington, who managed 83.80 points for her performance.

The semi-finals of the men’s competition also took place today, with the United States' Jake Leiva topping qualification for the final on 92.60 points.

He was followed by Australia's Logan Martin and fellow American Dennis Enarson, who managed scores of 91.40 and 89.80 respectively.

The top 12 riders qualified for tomorrow's final.

The UCI Flatland World Cup continued with the semi-finals, which saw France's Alex Jumelin score 90.16 to qualify in first for the final, followed by compatriot Matthias Danois on 89.63.

Canada's Jean William Prevost qualified third on 89.00.

The skateboard street event reached the semi-final stage of the competition, with Slovakia's Richard Tury leading the field on 89.00 points.

Japan's Ikeda Daisuke was his closest challenger on 84.33, with France's Jonathan Jean-Philippe third on 80.66.

Competition will draw to a close tomorrow in Edmonton.

The event is the third stop in the FISE World Series, with events having already been held in Hiroshima and Montpellier.
