Brazilian world record holder Petrúcio Ferreira was among the winners today at the final leg of the 2018 World Para Athletics Grand Prix series season in Berlin.

Ferrerira triumphed in the T47 100 metres in 10.71sec to beat fellow Brazilian Washington Junior into second place.

Junior clocked 10.94 at the Friedrich Ludwig Jahn Sportpark as Austria's Alexa Pototschnig took a distant bronze with 11.84.

London 2012 Paralympic champion Yohans Nascimento added to Brazil's sprinting success by prevailing in the T46 100m.

He clocked 11.29 to beat Danas Sodaitis of Lithuania, second in 11.42, and Bradley Murere of Namibia, who was third in 11.98

Yoo Byunghoon led a South Korean 1-2 in the open wheelchair 800m elsewhere today.

He clocked 1min 42.72min to beat team-mate Jung Dong-ho, second in 1:46.36.

Ludwig Malter of Austria crossed third in 1:52.54.

Tunisian Yassine Gharbi was a non-starter after he claimed a 400-800-1,500m treble on home soil at the Tunis Grand Prix last weekend. 

Deja Young was among the day's other winners as the American won the women's T45-47 100m in 12.25.

Tereza Jakschova of Czech Republic was second in 13,00 and Santos dos Correia of Brazil third in 13.18.

Action is due to continue with a second and final day of competition tomorrow.
