Spain dominated the golf tournament at the Mediterranean Games, winning all four gold medals ©Tarragona 2018

A sudden death play off decided the women’s golf in the Mediterranean Games where Spain’s Marta Sanz snatched gold from Italy’s Angelica Moresco here today. 

Sanz birdied four of the last five holes for a four under par final round of 68.

That gave her a total of 284.

Sanz then holed a huge putt to win in the playoff. 

Ana Belac of Slovenia took the bronze medal.

Former top amateur Mario Galiano carded four sub-70 rounds and was always in control of the men’s tournament.

The Spaniard cemented his dominance with a second round 66 and followed up with a 68 and a 69 on the final day to win by nine strokes from Aron Zemmer of Italy.

The bronze medal to Zan Luka Stirn of Slovenia. 

Spain also claimed both team gold mdals to complete a memorable day for the host country.
