Mexico won the women’s duet free and team free combination events on the final day of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Artistic Swimming World Series event on Syros Island in Greece, increasing their total number of victories to seven.

Karem Achach and Nuria Diosdado Garcia claimed the duet free title after scoring a total of 87.0333 points at the Syros Swimming Pool.

Victory saw them add to the gold medal they won in the duet technical event on Friday (June 15).

"It was an amazing tournament for us in beautiful Syros and we take back the best memories from Greece," Achach said.

Twins Charlotte and Laura Tremble of France took the silver medal with 85.9667 points, while the bronze went to the young Greek pair of Anna Maria Taxopoulou and Georgia Vasilopoulou with 84.0333.

The Mexicans ended their superb showing on Syros Island with first place in the last event, the team free combination.

They ascended to the highest step of the podium with a score of 86.9667 points.

Hosts Greece were the silver medallists with 84.5667 points and Hungary the bronze medallists with 78.6333.

Today's first final, that in the mixed duet free event, saw two-time world champions Mayya Gurbanberdieva and Aleksandr Maltsev of Russia triumph with 91.0667 points.

The silver medal went to Italy’s Manila Flamini and Giorgio Minisini, who won yesterday’s mixed duet technical event, after receiving 89.5000 points from the judges.

Japan’s Atsushi Abe and Yumi Adachi secured the bronze medal with 88.3000 points.

Syros Island was hosting the ninth leg of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series.
