Host nation Bolivia defeated Colombia to claim the gold medal in the men's racquetball competition on day nine of the South American Games in Cochabamba.

The home side's title was secured thanks to Carlos Keller Vargas' 2-0 victory against Colombia's Mario Osvaldo Mercado Valenzuela.

Losing semi-finalists Ecuador and Chile shared bronze.

The host nation, however, failed to make it a racquetball double as Valeria Centellas Claros lost the women's final to Argentina's Natalia Mendez Erlwein by a 2-0 scoreline.

Ecuador and Colombia shared bronze.

Elsewhere, Colombia took a clean sweep in the women's cycling road race.

Ana Cristina Sanabria Sanchez finished top of the rankings thanks to a time of 1 hour 51min and 4 sec.

She was followed by compatriots Yeny Lorena Colmenares Colmenares and Serika Mitchell Guluma Ortiz, who finished with times of 1:51.10 and 1:51.35 respectively.

Ecuador clinched the title in the men's competition thanks to Jefferson Alveiro Cepeda Hernández’s time of 3.58.16.

Colombian Omar Alberto Mendoza Cardona finished in the silver medal position after crossing the line in 3:58.36 whilst his compatriot Juan Pablo Suarez Suarez shared bronze with Ecuador's Bayron Patricio Guama De La Cruz, who both recorded a time of 3:59.34.
