Fort Benning is poised to host the third leg of the 2018 International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup from tomorrow.

A total of 352 shooters are scheduled to compete at the United States army base on the Alabama-Georgia border.

Fifty-three countries will be represented in all, with the 10 Olympic shooting events in rifle and pistol all set to be contested.

There will also be competition in four additional disciplines in order to determine quota places for this year's Summer Youth Olympic Games in Argentina's capital Buenos Aires.

These are 10 metre youth competitions for both men and women in air rifle and air pistol.

Eight berths are on offer in all for the Youth Olympics which run between October 6 and 18.

Fort Benning has hosted a World Cup stage on nine previous occasions - in 1994, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Action will begin tomorrow with the women's 10m air rifle and the men's 10m air pistol.
