Design of the medals to be awarded at next year's European Games in Minsk was among the items on the agenda when a meeting chaired by Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov today to discuss preparations for the event.

The Organising Committee also discussed the awarding of the catering contract for Minsk 2019 and ensuring food hygiene, Belarusian Telegraph Agency, the country's official news agency, reported.

A subcommittee also gave a report on medical assistance during the competition. 

The second European Games are due to take place next year between June 22 and 30.

it is expected to feature 4,000 athletes competing in 180 medal events in 15 sports. 

A total of 11 of the sports at Minsk 2019 will be qualifiers for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
