United States athletes secured eight medals, including five gold, on the second day of the World Para Swimming World Series at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis.

A trio of four-time Paralympic medallists - Michelle Konkoly, McKenzie Coan and Martha Ruether - swept the 50 metres freestyle podium, securing gold, silver and bronze, respectively.

After winning gold medals last night, three US athletes secured additional glory on day two. 

They were led by 13-time Paralympic gold medallist Jessica Long in the 200m individual medley. 

Paralympic bronze medallist Robert Griswold won the 100m backstroke and Alyssa Gialamas the S5 50m backstroke in 1min 43.55sec, a Pan American record. 

American women also finished one-two in the 100m backstroke, with two-time Paralympic medallist Hannah Aspden and Gia Pergolini placing first and second respectively.

Three women set records today, including Pergolini with an American and Pan American best in the S13 100m backstroke - 1:08.71.
