All four male judoka who represented Australia at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics will be among the athletes competing at the Oceania Judo Championships, which begin tomorrow in New Caledonia.

Brothers Josh and Nathan Katz, and Jake Bensted and Eoin Coughlan, are among a large Australian contingent who will do battle in Noumea, the capital of the French territory.

Josh Katz will be in 60 kilograms action with Nathan Katz in the 66kg division at the Salle Omnisport De l’Anse Vata.

Bensted will contest the 73kg class and Coughlan will lock horns at 81kg.

Female Olympian Katharina Haecker will also compete in Noumea in the 63kg division.

Australia have picked nine men and nine women in all with New Zealand likely to be their closest challengers.

The Kiwis have selected six men and three women to compete.

Action will begin tomorrow with cadets and junior action, followed by senior events on Sunday (April 8).

A three day training camp will follow the tournament.
