Hosts Germany have picked their men's squad for this year's Wheelchair Basketball World Championships in Hamburg.

Eleven players have been selected in all by head coach Nicolai Zeltinger.

It means one slot is still available with that player set to be named following a training camp in Nottwill in Switzerland in May.

Christopher Huber, Frank Oehme, Phillip Schorp, Nico Dreimüller, Jan Haller and Thomas Böhme have all been named in the squad.

They have been joined by Kai Möller, Jan Sadler, Jan Gans, Matthias Güntner and Aliaksandr Halouski.

"We had an excellent quality selection camp," said Zeltinger.

"I'm excited about the respectful and hard way the athletes work together.

"This is the way we want to represent Germany during a home World Championship.

"We are sure that we have selected the right athletes."

Germany won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Tenerife in Spain in June, after beating The Netherlands 61-56 in the third-place play-off.

They reached the last eight of the Rio 2016 Paralympic tournament before losing to Spain, and exited following the second round group phase at the last World Championships in 2014 in Incheon, South Korea.

This year's tournament will be held at the edel-optics.de Arena in Hamburg from August 16 to 26.

Germany will play in Pool A with Africa's sole representative at the tournament, Morocco, as well as Canada and India.

Paralympic champions United States will face South Korea, Poland and Paralympic bronze medallists Great Britain in Pool B.

European champions Turkey are the headline name in Pool C, where they will face Japan, Brazil and Italy, who finished fourth at the 2010 tournament in Birmingham.

Reigning world champions Australia have been drawn into Pool D alongside Paralympic silver medallists Spain, Argentina and The Netherlands.
