The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and commercial partner Samsung have unveiled the list of video bloggers who will record behind-the-scenes footage at the upcoming Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Paralympic Games here.

Twenty-five bloggers from 14 countries have been chosen, including 19 athletes, three team officials and three fans, and will share their experiences using a Samsung Galaxy Note8 supplied by Samsung.

The Paralympic blog idea, which was first introduced at London 2012 and continued at Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016, is part of Samsung's #DoWhatYouCant campaign, which aims to support the Paralympic Movement.

Pyeongchang 2018, however, will be the first time that non-athletes blog the Games with organisers hoping that the chosen team officials and fans can provide a new perspective on the action.

Athlete bloggers for the upcoming Games include American Para-ice hockey player Josh Pauls and Austrian Para-Alpine skier Markus Salcher, both of whom are two-time Paralympic champions.

Mexican Alpine skier Arly Velasquez, who made his Paralympic debut at Vancouver 2010, is another one of the bloggers chosen by the IPC and Samsung.

"As athletes, we push the limits in the body and in the mind," he said.

"We spend a whole life re-defining what the world thought as impossible.

"We never move back, we just move forward.

"It's worth showing the world what we are capable of."

IPC communications and media director Craig Spence added: "We’re excited to once again give millions of viewers around the world the chance to get a closer look at the Paralympics through the eyes of the Samsung Paralympic bloggers.

"This time in Pyeongchang, team officials and fans will also join the team to show the world a unique perspective of life inside a Paralympic Games."

All blog content will be uploaded to the IPC’s YouTube Channel, the IPC website and the respective bloggers’ social media accounts.

Bloggers at the last Winter Paralympics in Sochi in 2014 achieved notable success off camera with 13 gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze medals won.
